| Goin' back to school on the 24th. Gettin' tons of free grant money from the government. As a celebration, I am jumpstarting my literary pursuits and I'm diving headfirst back into my favorite topics of personal study- mythology and the paranormal. Ordered two major Nordic texts alongside some other fun stuff that includes a huge updated version of the Divine Comedy (with Gustave Dore art... mmmmm) and a Tom Lehrer music book so I can learn how to play his music on any piano I encounter.
All this while I start wading through some Joseph Campbell and attempt to motivate myself to dive into the Pacific Ocean that is Atlas Shrugged.
Next up, when I finish digesting all of this, I'm going to start collecting Lovecraft like it's going out of style.
| After careful examination and thorough scrutiny, I have come to the conclusion that Pearl Jam sucks. | | |
| Politics.
It's like a grade-school fight at recess... all day, every day!
Seriously. The fact that American public is so fucking polarized on every fucking issue is an absolute joke. I don't give a fuck how hardcore your political beliefs are; you should want Obama to succeed because if he doesn't then you're going to be dragged into the hole alongside your oh-so-hated liberals. You fucking idiots.
Support your fucking president and give him a fucking chance. Bitching for the next four years is going to get you nowhere, rally and work your asses off and hope to fucking God that he can at the very least inspire the best in the least of people. Because you know what? It's way better to spend money on education than some bullshit war in Iraq when we should have been fucking focusing on Afghanistan in the fucking first place. Take care of the folks trying to get through college, pay off everyone's student loans, sit back, and let the influx of well-trained, college-educated professionals take the reins of the economy.
I'm sick of partisan bullshit. I subscribe to the thought of 'MAKE THIS FUCKING COUNTRY WORK ALREADY'.
